Hello there. My name is Oleksandr (or "Sasha"), I recently started discovering the Fediverse.

I am a medical doctor by education, currently working on a PhD project in molecular medicine in Austria. I work half wet lab (cell and molecular biology) and half dry lab (bioinformatics, omics data analysis); my research focus is chronic liver diseases.

Outside work, I enjoy learning something new about computers and reading about space research.

I'm resigning as co-chair of the SocialCG. I'm too busy and we have three other excellent co-chairs. It's been an honor to serve in that position. Look forward to continuing as a community participant instead!

Hi hi!

Time for a 'lil #introduction. My name is Silvio, I'm Italian but I live in the Netherlands. In the past I researched artistic "post-digital" publishing, I wrote about the entrepreneurial ideology in relation to precarity, and did a lot of other stuff such as graphic design, web development, installations, net art, zines, weird tools, videoclips… I'm starting to suspect that consistency is not among my core skills :oh_no_bubble:

Right now I'm mostly busy documenting and understanding a sense of disillusionment that seems to permeate the design field.

Currently, I'm an assistant professor in design theory and criticism at the Center for Other Worlds in Lisbon ( and I'm part of, a lovely space dedicated to everyday technology.

I toot mostly about #labour, #design, #linux and #videogames. Also, I enjoy posting "unacceptable" CW puns.

While writing about the past and the present of computer usership, I amassed a mastodontic year-long thread. That was fun :)

i would like to experiment with adding color to rescanned oscillographics by shooting them through a rotating multicolored filter wheel that is spinning at a rate close to the frequency of the oscillators displayed on the scope.

the idea is based on how the dichroic color wheel works in DLP projectors (the ones that sometimes look rainbow when you film them or move your eyes around quickly).
