It's the final day of #Solpunk today, and I am simultaneity saddened and relieved. Striving for consensus in a randomly selected group of humans takes an incredible amount of patience and energy. I am reminded how easily a dystopian social structure can organically arise out of well meaning intentions. Spending most of my week outside is quite great, and being surrounded by people who question the status quo is a good base level. I will try to write about my week here if I find some downtime
Hey @jowek Solpunk missed you dearly. It didn't feel the same without your energy
@liaizon Thanks for saying that. I had so much fomo for not being there.
Hopefully next year.
Im super curios about how it went!
@liaizon What does "a dystopian social structure can organically arise out of well meaning intentions." mean?
@jowek just that how power gets distributed and moved around has many ways of feeling fair to different sides. Some peoples perfred structure of a democratic process is other peoples feeling of imposed authority.
@liaizon I see. Baseline should be "we want this to work out together". If that shared feeling of community is not made strong enough i guess it can be challenging.
But are the rise of dystopian social structures a cause of lack of important bonding etc. or also a product of destructive behavior (which can be unintentional)?
