I discovered today that @prologic has added support to their twtxt server software yarn.social and its largest instance twtxt.net essentially bridging the and twtxt networks together.

If you are unfamiliar with , it is a different take on decentralized microblogging that has been around for many years, and it is quite interesting to see it now bridged between this side and that one!

yarn.socialYarn.social - The decentralised social micro-blogging platform that actually respects your privacyYarn.social is a decentralised self-hosted social media based on the Twtxt format that has a privacy-first focus. There are no ads, no tracking, and no personal information is ever collected or stored.

@liaizon @prologic This is amazing! I used to love twtxt, and always felt like a bit of a traitor moving to Mastodon. I'm pleased they're now compatible

@liaizon@social.wake.st @prologic@twtxt.net That is neat. I don't know if i is a his side thing or a my side thing but clicking on "view on remote instance" doesn't seem to work for twtxt.net

@liaizon@social.wake.st @prologic@twtxt.net The purpose of this comment is because I want to know if it is a me thing or a twtxt thing. I recognise that not everything is going to work perfectly immediately

@ZoDoneRightNow @prologic I got the view on remote instance for Yarn to work yesterday from mastodon.social but it seems like its a bit brittle

@liaizon @prologic @aw It’s fascinating. They’re doing something by very different with twtxt than what I want it for, and I believe very different from the initial intent, but it’s a great example of what you can do with something very simple.
