Deviation: #ZX-30495Today feels like a proper milestone for <a href="https://hackers.town/tags/Aardwolf" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Aardwolf</a>-Social. One that makes me smile with pride, but also one of regrets.Unfortunately I no longer believe that the project will be at MVP status by the time <a href="https://hackers.town/tags/Veilid" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Veilid</a> launches. I genuinely wanted that because it gave me a target to reach for. Something that drove me to <a href="https://hackers.town/tags/TryHarder" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#TryHarder</a>. While I feel that I have made huge personal gains in my <a href="https://hackers.town/tags/Rust" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Rust</a> dev knowledge, it simply isn't enough.However.Today also marked the first time in many years that I was able to share the Vision of what Aardwolf-Social is meant to be. Right now, we are two developers, but right now, we are in sync.The PhilosophyAardwolf-Social was never -JUST- about building an alternative to Facebook. That's why the project rapidly went from <a href="https://hackers.town/tags/Fedibook" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Fedibook</a> to Aardwolf-Social. It has ALWAYS been a COMMUNITY project. Something to be built by everyone. An application that will help to unify the <a href="https://hackers.town/tags/Fediverse" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Fediverse</a>. This vision, still stands.The VisionThe other dev, and I have come to the agreement that we are going to expand the modular nature of the project. In its current state there is still some rigidity that neither of us like. That will need to be remedied. While this means that we have to delay MVP-status... it is what we both want.Aardwolf-Social will be built like a web-app version of (Mx.) Potato Head.In practical terms...<ul><li>We will provide a base</li><li>We will provide a database connector</li><li>We will provide a user interface</li><li>We will provide a complete setup using our chosen defaults</li></ul>We will -ALSO- provide a map for how to build your own modules.<ul><li>Want to use MariaDB instead of PostgreSQL?</li><li>Want to make a text-only front-end?</li><li>Want to integrate your thing?</li></ul>The only answer to all of those questions is "Do it".We will provide a method to do all of that. It seems like that nice blend of Rust built into an HTML framework that I am willing to compromise on. And both of those play well with YEW as far as I am aware.I wont say "stay tuned for updates" because I HONESTLY have no idea when that will ever happen. BUT... IF you are a Rust dev, Noob Dev, or any kind of dev open to learning about the project... hit me up!We're SO CLOSE to having a demosite going... I just dont know enough about how to tie the existing backend to the UI I started building... and its killing me.

Getting a <a class="hashtag" href="https://edolas.world/tag/rust" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Rust</a> implementation to release finally would be nice and could help <a class="hashtag" href="https://edolas.world/tag/plume" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Plume</a> and other Rust based projects.
