@liaizon i mean it sucks but i think it's the default in any Linux install.

actually read somewhere the other day that the amount of telemetry Windows 10 sends off when set to 'basic' is similar to a fairly regular distro (Ubuntu, Fedora etc) install. just that the telemetry gets sent to varying areas/companies since it's a huge mix of components from different developers. though ofc Microsoft has advertisements in mind whereas Linux devs are probably just working to improve software

@grufwub this seems like an unacceptable default. though seeing that the default search is google and there is an amazon app installed in ubuntu by default now I guess I shouln't be surprised.
